Well friends, another year has come to an end, and looking back, it’s been one of for the books! Oftentimes as an independent artist, you can wonder “did I even do anything this year?” Well…turns out when I looked back on the year, I did!

This year has been full of exciting adventures (both personally and professionally)! I wanted to provide a little recap as 2023 comes to a close and I look ahead to the new year.

I know it’s already February so we are over a month into the New Year, but life has been a bit of a blur for the past month in our house since Spencer and I welcomed our baby girl to the world on Jan. 3!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

As the busyness of the holiday season ramps up, I am trying to take a few moments to reflect on the year I’ve had before it’s almost over! I can’t believe in less than 2 weeks, it will be a new year (and I will have a new baby!!). The year really has flown by!

It’s been two weeks since CCMA Week (Canadian Country Music Association Week) and in a way, I feel I am still recovering. Not from late nights staying out late and drinking (I mean, I am 5 months pregnant after all…) but recovering from the mountain top that I was on for five days straight seeing friends from the industry, supporting my fellow artists, and of course, performing for industry members and fans in my hometown of Calgary, AB!

Well everyone, the time has come - our little one, Levi Luther Cheyne has arrived! He came into the world on July 12th, 2021 at 3:40 PM but he has been part of our family since we found out we were pregnant back in October. He has been in our thoughts, prayers, and our hearts since that very day and it is an absolute joy to have him here as a precious little newborn baby.

It’s not surprising that the first single I chose to release as a solo artist is a song that was written based on the theme of defiance, objection, and non-conformity.

Welcome to my first official “blog post!” I have written many blogs over the years, but they have always been related to travel. My posts were usually a re-telling of fun, exciting, sometimes disastrous adventures while travelling around the world with friends, family, or by myself. Here, I hope to be able to invite you into my life – to share stories, thoughts, and feelings as I go through the peaks and valleys of my musical career, marriage, maternity (and soon, motherhood).
